We are proud to collaborate with Jody and Luke, Partners at Pentagram, as they grow their team. Seats at the world's largest independently owned design studio rarely open up, and this one puts you close to the partners and the work.
Founded in 1972, Pentagram is the world’s largest independently owned design studio, with offices in London, New York, Berlin and Austin.
They’re a practice built around clarity, craft and personal commitment — every project shaped directly by a partner, ensuring attention, intelligence and continuity.
A unique structure: Pentagram is the only major design studio where the owners of the business are the creators of the work and the primary contact for every client. This reflects their conviction that great design cannot happen without passion, intelligence and—above all—personal commitment, and is demonstrated by a portfolio that spans five decades, many industries, and clients of every size.
Join the team working on briefs that vary from exhibitions and cultural institutions to AI research labs, robotics, gaming and luxury fashion. This is a rare level of breadth for a midweight role, in a business that will push your skills as far as your curiosity takes them.
Luke and Jody have worked together for twenty years, ten of them at Pentagram. Before that it was the two of them, a desk, a laser printer and whoever they could pull in for a project.
The team is bigger now and it is built the same way: most people in the team can animate, code, draw and design, and are ready to adapt to the discipline required for the next project. The creative principles and high standards are clear, but Luke and Jody aren’t afraid of a messy brief, a broad process, and whichever medium tells the greatest story.
Design leads. Strategy matters.
What connects the broad variety of projects created in this team is simplification.
Getting to a simple execution usually means building something. A tool, a typeface, a generative process. Ideas start analogue, in sketchbooks and arguments: if you can’t draw it, or say it, then it isn’t ready. Then the idea gets made, and the medium usually tells a story of what the idea actually was.
In this role, you’ll have regular time with Luke, Jody and your design lead, not only when something has gone wrong.
From messy brief to exquisite simplicity
We'll get back to you shortly.
